Charles Frodsham. A fine and rare 18K gold half hunter case minute repeating chronograph keyless lever watch Signed Chas. Frodsham, 09776, AD.Fmsz, by appointment to the King, 27, South Molton Street, London, stamped with London date letter for 1917 Gilt-finished three-quarter lever movement, winding and chronograph mechanism mounted on the top plate, repeating on two hammers onto two gongs, bimetallic compensation balance, double overcoiled blued steel balance spring, diamond endstone, gold cuvette with engraved inscription Presented to George S.F. Edwards, Esq. from some of his friends in the Castle Steam Travellers Coy. in application of his services, October 1918 , tinted enamel dial, Roman numerals, two sunk subsidiary dials for 60 minute register and constant seconds, engine-turned circular case, inlaid black enamel chapter to the front cover, the back centred by an engraved lion's head framed by branches, five-knuckle hinges, turning pendant, repeating slide and chronograph button in the band, case numbered and stamped with casemaker's initials RN for Robert North and London date letter for 1917, cuvette stamped RN, dial and movement signed and numbered 55 mm. diam.
