Bouchon Dubournial, Paris: Méquignon-Marvis, 1822. 4 volumes, 8° (226 x 154mm.), half-titles, 12 engraved plates, in 2 states before letters, by Lignon, Prevost, Leroux, Cardon and Burdet after Vernet, and Lami, one folding engraved map by A. Tardieu. EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED with 190 engraved plates, including 5 in 2 states, by J. Heath, Ch. Heath, Duflos, Delaistre, Raimbach and others after Smirke, Navarro, Deveria, Westall and others, 3 folding engraved maps, one coloured in outline (some light spotting), blue morocco gilt by Chambolle-Duru, gilt triple fillets with cornerpieces, spines elaborately decorated and ruled in gilt, gilt inner dentelles, gilt edges (spines very lightly and evenly sunfaded). Provenance: Frank Linsly James (bookplate). A FINE COPY EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED with 190 plates from various editions of Don Quixote , including the English edition of 1820. (4)
