Inscription below portrait of mustachioed gentleman identifies him as "H. Shorter." According to the Minority Student Records in the Oberlin College archives, Hezekiah Shorter, a native of Lawrence, Kansas, was enrolled in the Preparatory Department from 1874 until 1878. Platt's studio imprint on verso of both cartes. Condition: Both toning, spotting, and staining, with wear to mount corners.
