Urbis Venetiarum prospectus celebriores ex Antonii Canal tabulis XXXVIII. aere expressi ab Antonio Visentini Venice: Giovanni Battista Pasquali 1742. 3 parts in one volume, oblong 2° (355 x 520mm). 3 letterpress titles in red and black with engraved vignettes by Visentini, letterpress table of contents, engraved Prospectus , double portrait of Canaletto and Visentini by Visentini after Giovanni Battista Piazetta, 38 engraved views of Venice by Visentini after Canaletto. (Plate numbered VI cut down and mounted to size.) Contemporary French mottled calf, spine gilt (repairs to head and foot of spine and corners). Provenance : Ogden Codman (bookplate); APT (monogrammed bookplate). FIRST COMPLETE EDITION. The collection includes the familiar Canaletto views of the Grand Canal as well as views of the public buildings and regatta scenes. Berlin Kat. 2695; cf. Cicognara 4113 (1751 edition); cf.
