4 page original typescript of an outline for a novel to be titled The Slim Girl , which was eventually published under the title Galatea in 1953. Together with the 14 page original typescript of the unused first chapter of that novel, both with numerous corrections by the author. [With:] Cain, James M. 28 page original typescript of a historical novel, The Lady is a Pirate , with extensive corrections by the author. This is probably an early, discarded version of the novel which would be published as Mignon in 1962. [With:] Cain, James M. 41 page original typescript for the outline of a novel to be called The Pie Rat , with extensive corrections by the author. This seems to be another version of the of his novel Mignon . Together, 87 pages typed and written on rectos only. Condition : some rubbing, paper clip marks on upper left corners. Housed in a full morocco clamshell case.
