Beschreibung:

12" round barrel, blue finish, walnut checkered grips. This is a beautiful example of a custom made early small ring Mauser Model 1896 Broomhandle pistol that has been beautifully custom engraved over 60% of the metal surfaces and has been fitted with an extra long custom Bohler steel barrel. The serial number of this pistol places it as an early small ring pistol. As noted it has been fitted with a 12 inch, slightly heavier custom barrel that was made by the Bohler steel company of Austria. The complete barrel extension and frame have been beautifully engraved in a traditional oak leaf and acorn pattern with a fine punch-dot back ground intermixed with a fine geometric and crosshatched pattern that borders the engraving. The engraving also extends to the rear of the barrel where it joins the barrel extension and the front edge of the rear sight and onto the top of the slide. The breech bolt has been jeweled on all the exposed surfaces. The right rear side of the frame still retains the Mauser factory markings of "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER-OBERNDORF A. NECKAR"with an original "Crown-U" proof on the left side of the chamber area over "GERMANY" indicating it was originally exported out of Germany. The barrel has been machined so that it has a ramp type front sight with a removable bead front sight, somewhat like the early pre-War Mauser rifles. The top and underside of the barrel has been roll marked with "BOHLER ANTINIT". The rear of the frame, hammer, and trigger group are all serial numbered ''70050''. As noted, it has also been fitted with a beautiful set of deluxe, dark walnut grips that have been completely hand-checkered from side to side with a small smooth border around the edge next to the frame. The top of the rear sight is graduated from 75-500 meters. Comes with a stock that is numbered "050" on top with checkered buttplate and checkered straight grip. CONDITION: Very fine as extensively custom embellished and with 99% of the blue remaining overall and exceptional engraving. The custom, deluxe walnut grips are also in excellent condition with just a few minor handling marks on the lower left grip. Stock is also fine, with some handling marks, an impression on the left side, just above the checkering, and one tight crack on right side, where wood meets metal. This is a beautiful looking custom Mauser Model C96 Broomhandle. Name Value Accessories Stock Barrel Length 12" Caliber/Bore 7.63 FFL Status Curio & Relic Manufacturer MAUSER Model C-96 Broomhandle Paperwork Serial Number 70050
