One of only 100 sets produced in 1964 by Colt commemorating the 35th anniversary of Cherry's Sporting Goods, this set being serial number 100. Guns (A + B) Feature include a gold plated finish, 4 - 3/4" barrel, standard Single Action Army pattern front and rear sight, as well as 2-piece Colt gold medallion smooth wood grips. (A) Single Action Frontier Scout. Left side of barrel is stamped "1929 - CHERRY'S SPORTING GOODS - 1964", with the top bearing Colt's one line address, and the right being stamped "COLT SINGLE ACTION FRONTIER SCOUT .22 L.R.". Encircle Rampant Colt stand atop a globe logo is present on the left side of the frame. Only visible serial number is on the frame. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their factory gold plated finish, exhibiting only a small spot of flaking showing through to silvering on the front of the cylinder. Bright bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. (B) Single Action Army. Left side of barrel bears the Cherry's Sporting Goods commemorative stamp, with the top bearing Colt's single line address, and the right being stamped "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45". Left side of frame bears patent information followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Matching numbers are present on the frame, cylinder, and grip straps, with matching assembly numbers present on the rear of the frame and loading gate. Interior of the grip panels are hand-scribed "100". CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining virtually all of their factory gold plated finish. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips are excellent. Leatherette case exhibits some light wear to the lid, with the letters being slightly worn, but is otherwise fine. A very nice and attractive pair of Colt single action revolvers commemorating the 35th anniversary of Cherry's Sporting Goods.
