Originating in Paris after the Great War, San-Sou-Pap, as its name implies, produced machines with valve-less, two-stroke engines for the growing French market for frugal motor transport. After a number of years, San-Sou-Pap merged with the Rovin concern and their range of machines expanded with four-stroke engines supplied from the number of proprietary makers in business at the time. This example of the San-Sou-Pap, originally supplied by Cycles H. Benoit of Conqueril, Loire, is presented in competition machine fashion with stiffened frame and sweeping 'moustache' handlebars. The gearbox is a Staub but the overhead-valve engine with speedway-style pipes and supplementary pump had not been positively identified at the time of cataloguing. An excellent candidate for les Coupes Moto Légende.
