A fascinating copy in decorated editorial paper of this extensive geographical work by Busching; the copy with the highest number of plates among those recorded as having sold at auction (RBH). The numerous plates mainly portray exponents of the various chivalric orders of the then known world. In the introduction of volume 29, the publisher declares that the work was to serve as a detailed commentary on his Atlas novissimo, illustrated and augmented on the discovered observations made by the most famous and most recent geographers, which is now being published by him for the first time between 1775-1785. 33 (of 34) tomes in 34 volumes with n. 25 divided in two (lacking the final index volume), 8vo (254 x 170mm). Engraved frontispiece in first volume, titles in red and black with engraved vignettes, 45 (of 47 according to SBN) engraved folding plates, of which two tables (lacking two plates, one of which, in volume 24, is called for in SBN but does not appear in the digitized copies consulted, occasional traces of worming to some leaves in volumes 3, 16, 17 without loss of text, occasional browning).
