Provenance : James L.Drummond, M.D. (Royal Belfast Institution, book-label). FIRST EDITION. Based on specimens in the natural history collections of Marmaduke Tunstall, Thomas Pennant and others, Brown's work was intended as a sort of supplement to George Edwards's A Natural History of Uncommon Birds . Much of the text was supplied by Pennant, who had previously employed Brown for two of the plates in his British Zoology .
