British Pattern 1769 Short Land Musket with New York Guard Markings, c. 1770s, .80 caliber, walnut stock with repairs made to the forend with copper rivets, brass fittings, brass side plate engraved with the initials "J.S.M.," the lock has been scrubbed of British markings, barrel has proof marks and "N-Y-G" engraved on the top of the barrel, with an iron ramrod, barrel lg. 41 7/8, overall lg. 57 3/4 in.
