An interesting group of about 40 various vintage, copy prints and contemporary photograph of Brigid Berlin at various stages of her life. Most 8 x 10 inches (20 x 25 cm). Most fine but the vintage photographs with some measure of handling and wear ; Offered with four photographs of Andy Warhol , including a 5 x 7 black and white photograph of Warhol, brush in hand, with a pug, signed on the verso by Beth Phillips and with Phillips/Schwab backlabels; two 4 x 6 photographs of Warhol with C.Z. Guest; and a large color digital image of Warhol, 16 x 13 inches. A fascinating glimpse into the life of Brigid Berlin The earliest images here include a captivating contact sheet by Paul Morrissey late 1960s, with about 30 shots of Brigid and four of Gerard Malanga; two vintage close up portrait of Berlin, about 1966, wearing her favorite jacket; an attractive copy print of Berlin with Dennis Hopper; a group of prints, some vintage, depicting Berlin nude, in various film roles, in a nun's habit, etc. Later images include a striking pair of images of Brigid dressed as her mother; a Polaroid depicting Berlin talking on the phone in the Factory, likely taken by Andy Warhol; a black and white and color photograph depicting Brigid at the Factory, likely taken by Warhol, both aout 9 x 11 inches, framed; a group of 15 photographs of Berlin titled Brigid Berlin/Photography by Marie Havens ; a five image 2008 photo-series by Neke Carson titled Closet Portrait: Brigid Berlin ; a group of photos of Brigid and some drawings and correspondence items sent to her from Marina Schiano; and photographs of Brigid with her pugs. Finally, the press kit for the 2000 documentary Pie in the Sky: The Brigid Berlin Story is present which includes a copy print of a classic 1960s image of Berlin photographing herself in front of Warhol's Marilyn screenprints at the Factory and two slides.
