Contemporary Parisian polished calf, gilt arms of Jacques-Auguste de Thou and his second wife on cover [Olivier 216, fer 8] their cypher in spine compartment (repair at spine, rubbed at extremities). Provenance : Jacques-Auguste de Thou (1553-1617) and his second wife Gasparde de la Chastre -- Thomas Brooke (bookplate) -- [Charles Rohan, prince de Soubise (shelfmark 3.C.P.T.4.F.82, abbreviated on front cover)] -- Thore Virgin, 1911 (bookplate and inscription) -- [Rolf Wistrand].
