Contains much useful original material about Larkin and his trade union activities mainly in Belfast. * Larkin was sent to Belfast in 1907 as an organiser for the National (British) Union of Dock Labourers. He quickly organised a strong union branch, and when his members were locked out by employers, he organised a major six month strike by dockers and carters, which led to clashes and several deaths.
