FIRST EDITION of Prophetia Isaiae one part of Robert Estienne's 24 part Hebrew Old Testament, which could be sold separately. In June 1539 Estienne was named Royal Printer and Bookseller in Hebrew and Latin. During that same year he commissioned Jehan Arnoul to cut a new Hebrew type for his Alphabetum Hebraicum in preparation of his quarto Hebrew Bible.
