Berks County Pennsylvania painted pine dower chest, dated 1806, retaining its original lid decoration and a number of added features like spread winged eagles, birds, and roosters, 25 1/4" h., 49 1/4" w. An especially fine example of this style of chest remains in a remarkable state of preservation. Provenance: The Collection of Jack and Mary Louise Krumrine, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Condition:Overall very good condition with minor wear. Lacking lock and till lid. Loss to side foot facing.
