A collection of autograph letters signed and cut signatures, the majority 19th-century, from English and French statesmen, members of the royal family, and literary figures, including: Lord LUCAN (1857, at Balaklava), Anthony TROLLOPE (19 February 1878, 1 page, 8vo ), Mrs DISRAELI (1849), the explorer Mungo PARK (1771-1806), London, 14 November 1804, 2 pages, 4to , relating to the Congo, written when preparing for his next expedition to the African interior, to follow the course of the Niger (some soiling), WELLESLEY, Arthur, 1st Duke of Wellington, letter in a secretarial hand (11 March 1832); the majority written to Mr Hayward, approximately 87 manuscripts in all, mounted in an autograph album, folio (several leaves detached). Provenance : John Dundas Bohn (bookplate).
