(Some spotting, occasional faint stain, minor repairs in last few corners, several letters strengthened in ink on B1v.) Modern half calf over wooden boards, retaining early front board and fragments of early leather. Provenance : marginal annotations in a neat contemporary hand -- Joseph Grassus, Augustinian monk (inscription on E2r dated 28 May 1613). Third edition of Andreae's commentary on Aristotle's Metaphysics . In grappling with the essence of being, Aristotle considers its physical as well as philosophical significance.
