An upright grand piano by Clementi, London, circa 1810 The mahogany case inlaid with ebony lines and ormolu decoration to the frieze, a moulded cornice above. Interior shelves to the right of the bentside. A pair of doors with moiré taffeta panels within moulded gilded frames, each with a gilt metal escutcheon; with silk brocade on the reverse. Raised on a frame stand with four turned and reeded legs. The curved fall board, cross-banded and inlaid, with its interior veneered in satinwood, cross-banded and line inlaid. The keywell veneered in satinwood cross-banded in rosewood and with ebony and boxwood stringing, the nameboard bearing an oval gilt plaque flanked by foliate gilt scrollwork inscribed: Clementi & Co, Cheapside, London. The five and a half octave keyboard FF-c4 with ivory naturals and ebony accidentals. English upright grand action with two pedal controlling keyboard shift and dampers, divided bridge.
