AN OLIVE GREEN JADE FLAT RECTANGULAR BEAD, 5TH CENTURY BC
AN OLIVE GREEN JADE FLAT RECTANGULAR BEAD, 5TH CENTURY BC carved in low relief with curls and spirals of zoomorphic origins, drilled through the body at the longest length, part of a set of girdle pendants, minor traces of cinnabar to surface; two brownish-green jade tooth formed pendants, both with slight white alterations, the drills holes though the shaped end, possibly representing animal heads, these were the lowest part of a girdle-set, and would chime against a larger pendant as the wearer moved, late Eastern Zhou (770-221BC); a pale celadon jade tooth formed pendant, the re-cut fragment with bevelled edges, two drill holes, the larger to the widest tip of the pendant, the other to the outer edge, Pre-Han Dynasty; an almost completely altered ivory-white jade tooth pendant, finely carved to the surface with zoomorphic scrolls, a single fine drill hole to the slender edge, Late Eastern Zhou (770-221BC); a yellow and russet jade bead in the form of a miniature cong, with incised circles and raised ridges straddling the corners of the piece representing eyes and mouth; a pale celadon jade bead in the form of a cong, bearing tiny white altered flecks, with raised ridges to the corners down the length of the piece; and a grey-celadon and deep brown jade cylindrical beads, with C and S-formed scrolls covering the length of the bead, again part of a girdle-pendant set -- The first 1 1/8in.
