An Italian pietre dure inlaid table top the central panel Grand Ducal Workshops, Florentine, 17th century, inset in a top probably Roman and late 18th century the top of elliptical form with a gilt-bronze leaf cast verde antico border enclosing a square panel depicting two birds on a cherry branch within a roundel, the spandrels in Nero Antico di Aquitania marble within an alabaster border the white marble demi-lune ends inlaid with three star motifs, the later giltwood base in the form of a leaf carved baluster vase on a square base and rectangular plinth with concave-fronted sides each applied with a giltwood star motif 58cm. high, 86cm. wide, 45cm. deep;1ft.11in., 2ft.10in., 1ft.6in.
