An inscribed gold quarter stater of the Southern Region/Atrebates and Regni, struck under Verica (AD 10-40), dating c. AD 10-40. Rudd’s ‘Verica Little Horse Rearing’ type. Obverse: inscription COM F inside rectangular tablet, single pellet-in-ring above and below. Reverse: horse prancing right on exurgal line, inscription ‘VI’ above. ABC 1199, BMC 1179-1206. Scarce, well centred dies. Very Fine. Weight: 1.15g. From the collection of an ex metal detectorist, found Berkshire and Oxfordshire during the 1980s/1990s.
