An Indian tulwar, or curved sword, of the 18th or 19th century. Featuring a probable-wootz steel blade (the pattern visible in places through the patina) and an iron hilt of typical form, with gold inlaid koftgari in floral motifs. There was once a knucklebow to the hilt, which seems to have been deliberately removed in period. Firm in the hilt, with dark patina and some pitting. Blade of 78cm and overall 91cm.
