An Important George III silver-gilt tray maker's mark of Digby Scott and Benjamin Smith London, 1803 Oval and four bacchanalian mask, scroll and goat's hoof feet, the border cast and applied with a band of trailing vines and with ribbon-tied berried laurel-leaf rim with two leopard-mask, fruit and foliage bracket handles each terminating in ram's masks, the centre finely engraved with the Royal Arms acollé with another, marked on reverse and stamped 'RUNDELL BRIDGE & RUNDELL AURIFICIES REGIS LONDINI FECERUNT' 30¾in. (80.5cm) long 255ozs. (7,939grs.) The Royal Arms are acollé with those of Prussia for H.R.H. Prince Frederick, Duke of York and Albany K.G., P.C., G.C.B., (1764-1827) and his wife H.R.H Frederica Charlotte Ulrica Catherine (1767-1820), eldest daughter of H.M. King Friedrich Wilhelm II of Prussia.
