An early 20thC violin An early 20thC violin, bearing the label for Amati and dated 1721, two piece back, length of back 36cm, and a nickel plated bow The condition of the violin is very poor. The backboard appears to be in good order without damage; however, there is a large colour variation as can be seen from images and it is scratched with initials 'XA/A' near to the neck. Around the sides there again is the same difference in discolouration at base and there is a split through the board and there is a missing piece of moulding. A this point there is also a large split of the body where it is joined, as opposed to within the boards. The front board appears to be intact without any splits but again, great colour variations. The neck and pegs all appear to be in good order but again deep discolouration.
