Balscadden was owned by Thomas Ismay won other races such as the Grand Auteil Hurdle Race, the Lancashire Steeplechase, the Prince Edward Handicap and the Newbury Aurumn Cup. His brother was Mr Joseph Bruce Ismay chairman and managing director of White Star lines for the RMS Titanic.
