AN DUTCH EBONY, SILKWORK AND STUMPWORK MOUNTED TABLE CABINET, 17TH CENTURY the hinged panel top enclosing a cavetto frieze compartment lined with green silk and inset on the reverse with central mirror and silkwork floral panels, the interior fitted with four drawers enclosed by architectural panel door with columns veneered on the reverse with kingwood with pierced contemporary later gilt handles and lock and inset with central arched needlework panel of a tree and flowers with pediment moulded drawer above and surrounded by eight moulded panel doors inset with silk work panels of birds, animals and dolphins in raised silk stumpwork heightened in gilt thread, enclosed by a pair of geometrically panelled doors inset on the reverse with oval panels of dolphins with panels framed by tulips and strawberries in raised needlework, with panelled sides applied with later gilt metal handles on bun feet the actual cabinet 20½in. (52cm.) wide, without the handles 18¼in. (46.5cm.) high, 11in. (28cm.) deep
