AN AUSTRIAN GOLD-MOUNTED ENAMELLED NECESSAIRE PROBABLY VIENNA, CIRCA 1760/1770 rectangular upright case with rounded corners, the obverse and reverse enamelled in mint green, the cover inscribed on both sides ' SOUVENIR ', the obverse with grisaille enamel depicting three cherubs playing as bacchantes, the reverse similarly enamelled with three cherubs disguised as Venus, Mars and Diana, the interior with a pair of gold-mounted scissors, a gold-backed mirror, a gold folding-knife with mother-of-pearl handle, a gold spoon, a gold bodkin, a gold mount for a pencil and a gold-mounted ivory tablet, chased gold mounts with gold push-piece 3 in. (77 mm.) high
