Colonel A. E. Beattie; thence by family descent. Lieutenant-Colonel Alexander Elder Beattie CMG CBE MC (1888-1951) was a British Army officer and colonial administrator. At the time this album of signatures was compiled Beattie was Gibraltar Colonial Secretary, holding the post until 1941.
