A poem in two parts describing a Dutch country fair. Each part is illustrated with a spirited copperplate showing very lively scenes of popular entertainment. The author was one of the leading Dutch poets of his time. The motto on title 'Quantum est in rebus inane!' comes from Persius (Sat. I, 1), and translates: "How much folly is there in this world!" Graesse VI:172.
