American School, 19th Century Hand-tinted Sixth-plate Daguerreotype of a Boy (Wallace F. Averill), in an embossed leather case. Sitter identified on a piece of paper accompanying the daguerreotype. Condition: Faint horizontal scratches, possibly from polishing, missing cover, case worn and abraded, especially at edges, opening up at three of four corners, scattered areas of corrosion on brass mat, velvet liner faded and worn, not examined out of case. Provenance: A private New England collection.
