One of two panels, Le Fruit and La Fleur , in which "Mucha pays tribute to his main source of inspiration, nature's bounty and feminine grace . . . there is surprisingly little ornamentation" (Lendl p. 198). Despite this, the viewer's eye is drawn to the intricate rendering of the lace on the maiden's gown and the exquisite detail, color and shading of the flowers.
