ALMANAC -- Almanach royal, année M.DCC.LXXVIII . Paris: Le Breton, [1778]. 8° (195 x 122mm). Cancels: Ff4 and Qq3. Woodcut royal arms on title, head- and tailpieces, and ornaments. Letterpress tables in the text, calendar at beginning interleaved. Contemporary red morocco gilt, covers with the arms of ?François-Jean Orceau de Fontette (1718-1794) [cf. Olivier 1770, fer 1] surrounded by foliate tools, spine gilt in compartments, lettered in two, the others decorated with fleurs-de-lis, roll-tooled gilt turn-ins, blue endpapers, gilt edges (extremities lightly rubbed). Provenance : annotations to interleaves and occasionally to text in an early neat hand.

Scotin, finely-bound in contemporary red French morocco, covers with wide gilt floral roll-tool borders and arms of Marie Leczinska, Queen of Louis XV, gilt fleur-de-lys in compartments of spine, buntpapier endpapers, gilt edges (extremities lightly rubbed, corners slightly more heavily).
