Dimensions: 25 ½ x 17 in Cette affiche de Mucha présente la vingtième exposition des artistes du Salon des Cent au hall du journal La Plume dont le directeur et fondateur était Léon Deschamps Parmi les nombreux et célèbres artistes ayant exposés au Salon des cent on retrouve Toulouse-Lautrec, Bonnard, Steinlen, Ensor, Grasset, Valtat, Degas, Lalique ou encore Matisse. Pendant la réalisation de cette affiche, Mucha, désireux d'adhérer et d'exposer au Salon des Cent, reçu la visite dans son atelier du commanditaire qui fut fasciné par le dessin de Mucha. Il lui demanda de laisser l'affiche telle qu'elle sans la finir complètement et de l'imprimer. Suite à cette rencontre Mucha exposa au Salon des Cent l'année suivante en 1897. This poster by Mucha presents the twentieth exhibition of artists in the Salon des Cent given in the hall of La Plume, the magazine of which Léon Deschamps was both director and founder. Amongst the many artists who had shown their work in the Salon des Cent one finds Toulouse-Lautrec, Bonnard, Steilen, Ensor, Grasset, Valtat, Degas, Lalique, or yet again, Matisse. During the making of this poster, Mucha, who really wanted to join these artists and to show his work in the Salon des Cent, received the visit of the sponsor who was fascinated by Mucha's drawing and asked him to leave the poster as it was and to get it printed without finishing it. This meeting enabled Mucha to exhibit his work in the Salon des Cent during following year, 1897.
