Lake Baikal and Harbin on the Trans-Siberian Railway, through Mukden in Manchuria, then to the coal mining center of Fushun, the placer mines of Kang-shan, across the Hun River to Tung-Hwa, more placers at Ta-miao-erh-kou and Tung-hua, gold mining at Ta-maio-kou, and more. One of the photographs is identified as being of mining engineer Henry Brelich, co-author of Mining in Malaya and other works. Others include: "Korean Miners at Chi-tao-kou"; "Crossing the Hun - tributary of the Yalu"; "Ta-miao-erh-kou Placer, Washing Gold"; "Street in Tung-hwa"; "Shrine outside Ling-kai"; "Fushun Coal Mine"; "The Expedition en route outside Mukden"; and more.
