FIRST EDITION, half-title, title printed in red and black with engraved vignette, privilege leaf at end, woodcut initials and tail-pieces, 89 engraved anatomical plates, including outline plates. The first edition of Bartolomeo Eustachi's anatomical tables, engraved in 1552 for a work that was never completed, was not published until 1714. Albinus published this second edition with his own extensive commentaries; the plates were reengraved by the gifted artist Jan Wandelaar with the addition of a letter or numeral-keyed outline version of each figure, nearly doubling the total number of engravings.
