36 in. ln., ferrule 1 in.; textured wooden handle with partial applied bone detail at each end; with Abraham Lincoln's bust in relief below handle, plus a high relief carving of a scroll inscribed A. Lincoln below; with additional bone ring below scroll. Retains original finish. Maker unknown, but the carving style is comparable to the work of early American woodcarver Samuel McIntire Although McIntire passed long before this cane was carved, it is possible that it was created by one of his contemporaries or a carver inspired by McIntire's work. Condition: Loss to bone detail on handle; Lincoln's nose lightly chipped; lower portion of wooden shaft broken at one point, but repaired; scattered surface wear.
