Caucasus, dated AH 1264/ AD 1847-8the double-edged blade of tapering form with offset fuller to each side, one side engraved with an inscription, the walrus ivory hilt of waisted form decorated in gold and niello silver inlay with foliate vines and vegetal motifs, the wood scabbard clad in burgundy velvet with painted decoration, the niello silver mounts decorated with foliate interlace, an inscription to the reverse of upper mount, the reverse of the scabbard with compartment containing a walrus ivory-hilted knife
