A Victorian Small-Sword Of A Deputy-Lieutenant Of A County, A Similar Small-Sword Of William IV Period, A George IV Sword, Probably For A King's Marshalman, A Civil Uniform Sword, And A Gentleman's Steel-Hilted Court-Sword The first by Firmin & Sons, 153 Strand and 13 Conduit St., all 19th Century The first with straight etched double-edged blade (pitted and discoloured), gilt-brass hilt comprising straight quillons, knuckle-guard, downcurved shell bearing an applied copper 'VR' cypher (originally silvered), grip bound with copper wire, and crown-shaped pommel, in its brass-mounted black lacquered leather scabbard (mounts originally gilt); the second similar (blade nicked and discoloured, scabbard associated); the third with slightly curved fullered blade (minor pitting), one-piece brass hilt of British 1822 infantry officer pattern, and shagreen-covered grip The first with 31in.
