A VICTORIAN MAHOGANY AND BUTTONED LEATHER JOCKEY SCALES CHAIR BY W & T AVERY, 19TH CENTURY 97cm high, 62cm wide, 55.5cm deep overall Condition Report: There are scratches, marks, knocks, cracks and abrasions consistent with age and use. There are losses, observations and restorations including: finished to the back so that this can be used in the centre of a room; some splits and replacements; the turned mahogany feet with gilt metal cappings and spherical feet; the black and gilt cast iron fittings with some scratching and rubbing to the decoration; some knocks and gouges to the mahogany top; the upholstery is a faux leather cloth, worn to some areas to reveal the cloth and horsehair, and lacking some buttons; the weights drawer has a lock, there is no key; the 'WEIGHING BOOK' is by Smythson; six pages record weights for 'JCB' from 1988-2006.
