A Victorian infantry officer's sword, featuring an 80cm blade of 1845 pattern, made by Pillin, updated in 1895 to the new regulation hilt. The blade single-edged and spear-pointed, very slightly curved, with a bright blade and crisp etching. Multiple leather washers. Plated 1895 pattern guard and backstrap. Shagreen and grip wire in good condition. Housed in leather field service scabbard with steel fittings. VR cypher etched to the blade and cut into the guard.
