The works resonate with many of Barceló's key themes: the bullfight, octopuses and the donkey. It has been suggested that the images were intended for an abandoned project for an illustrated book. We have found only one example of a single of the Tauromachie images appearing at auction before, and as with this example it was an artist's proof gifted to the owner. Provenance: A gift from the artist to the present owner.
