A Venetian glass mosaic mirror, second half 19th century, the octagonal frame encrusted with polychrome flowers applied in relief with a depiction of 'The Doge's Barge', above, over a view of San Marco column to the left hand side and the San Teodoro column to the right over a gondola to the base, all within a rippled glass surround resting on two ball feet 92cm wide, 134cm high NOTE: The mirror by repute purchased from the Lowther Castle Sale which took place in April, May and June of 1947. The 6th Earl of Lonsdale sold the contents of the estate through Maple & Co. Ltd. and Thomas Wyatt F.V.A.
