Cadell Date: 1768 Description: xix, [1], 169, [7] pp. With 3 folding copper-plate engravings. List of Subscribers, Index. (4to) 27x21 cm (10½x8¼"), tree calf rebacked in modern leather retaining earlier morocco lettering piece, gilt-rolled edges. First Edition. Endpapers retained with early ownership marks of Terry Tibble Reading Berks dated December 17, 1775. 'Thomas and Daniel Wildman, uncle and nephew, both achieved fame by trick performances with bees... Thomas, a Plymouth man, came to London in 1766...the journals of the day report his exploits... His treatise shows...an unusual knowledge of Continental bee-keeping..." (Walker, Catalogue of Bee Books, p. 78). Lot Amendments Condition: Some rubbing with a few scuffs to calf; hints of foxing to endpapers, mild soiling to title page, a few minor stains within; very good or better. Item number: 317326
