The Bernard Le Dauphin Collection of Tea Ceremony CeramicsA Takatori and two Seto chaire [tea containers]Momoyama - Edo period, late 16th - early 17th century
the first a Takatori chaire of ovoid form with ring neck and slightly everted foot, of reddish stoneware decorated with a dripped brown glaze falling above the foot; the second Seto ware of pear shape, with a speckled brown glaze falling short of the foot, with a dark brown glaze dripped from the neck; the third Seto ware, oviform with a slight waist and ring neck, decorated in dripped glazes of dark brown and ochre falling above the foot, accompanied with a fitted wood storage box (tomobako) with inscription
