First Edition. Caspar Whitney (1862-1929) was a gentleman-sportsman who knew everybody and tried everything. Less physically adventurous than his usual writing, this book is a survey of amateur sport in England, intended to emphasize the moral and social value of such activities. The three chapters on golf occupy 67 pages. Lot Amendments Condition: Spine slightly faded, light wear to edges; name erased from head of title page with resulting damage to paper; else very good.
