A spelter garniture comprising a jardinière and two vases in Japanese taste, circa 1880, by Maison Blot & Drouard, Paris [Three Works] composed of a jardinière and two vases, with figures in Japanese landscapes, each element with a zinc liner A similar garniture was exhibited at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1878. Firstly specialized in “régule” production, the house Blot and Drouard became smelter and editor of bronzes at the end of the 19th century, under the leadership of the founder’s son, Eugène Blot. The gallery, at n°5 of the Boulevard Madeleine exhibited next to their pieces some impressionists’ paintings, as well as some Camille Claudel’s artworks, as the firm cast a part of her production.
