A SPANISH LEFT-HAND DAGGER IN THE STYLE OF THE SECOND HALF OF THE 17 T H CENTURY 19 t h Century With very slender tapering flattened-hexagonal section blade changing to a flat ricasso, the latter with notched patterns cut at the sides and formed with a pair of prongs of sword-breaking type, iron hilt comprising long straight writhen quillons with button terminals, triangular guard pierced and engraved with a design of scrolling flowers inhabited by an exotic bird, moulded grip bound with patterned copper wire and three 'Turk's heads', and the hilt retaining traces of gilding. 21" (53.3cm)
