A SMALL EARLY 19 t h-CENTURY Napoleonic prisoner-of-war bone model OF A 74-GUN SHIP with masts, yards, rigging with bone blocks, full suit of ink-lined paper sails, polychromed figurehead, metal anchors, head rail, capstan, well deck, hammock racks, gratings, brass guns in carriages, deck lights, chicken coops and other details. The hull with painted main and second wales, red-painted gun port lids with brass guns, chain plates and deadeyes, carved stern and quarter galleries, is secured to a straw work base attached within a contemporary mirror-backed straw work display case with glazed sides and hinged front panel, bone finials and feet. Model measurements -- 6½ x 7½in. (16.5 x 19cm.); Cased measurements -- 9½ x 10¾in. (24 x 27.5cm.) See illustration
