A SÈVRES (HARD PASTE) GOLD-GROUND CUP AND SAUCER ( TASSE À THÉ FORME COUPE ET SA SOUCOUPE, 2 È M E GRANDEUR ) 1812-1819, the cup incised 12-2 for February 1812 and with former's script L and / mark, the saucer incised 19-10 for October 1819 and /u Each with a wide border of a matte gold rinceau and a wreath of variegated green leaves as concentric bands on a burnished gold ground, the band edged in gold and sepia with pendant harebells, the cup painted in camaïeu brun with named portrait medallions of Louis XIV, Louis V, and Louis XVI punctuating the border, the interior of the cup with a wide gilt band along the rim and a further gilt wreath, the underside of the cup with old paper lot label, the underside of the saucer applied with an old auction description, possibly that of an Anderson Art Galleries sale, describing a possible provenance 4¾ in. (12.1 cm.) diameter, the cup; 6¾ in. (17.2 cm.) diameter, the saucer (2)
